Mortgage Loan Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Generate mortgage loans within a designated metropolitan area

• Process mortgage loan applications

• Perform initial underwriting assessments

• Forward loan applications to processing and underwriting teams for approval

• Follow up to obtain necessary documents for processing, underwriting, and closing in a timely manner

• Pursue loan sales and engage in sales-related activities outside of U.S. Bank locations

• Allocate at least 50% of work hours to activities conducted away from U.S. Bank locations

⛳️ Requirements

• Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing Service (NMLS) in accordance with the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z

• Continuous adherence to all legal and regulatory registration obligations

• Maintenance of a satisfactory criminal and credit history

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Mortgage, Sales, or Real Estate

• Self-motivated individual with strong sales skills and the capability to work independently

• Established network of referrals within the assigned market

• Comprehensive understanding of pricing and underwriting standards from various mortgage insurance providers

• Familiarity with underwriting criteria for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors

• Knowledge of local, state, and national regulations, including zoning laws, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, and energy audit standards

• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to analyze financial data
