This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Perform on-site inspections of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within a designated region.
• Identify, start, move, inspect, and safely return vehicles located on dealer client lots.
• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options; ensure precise data entry in the system.
• Assess and record the condition of the vehicle's exterior and interior, including tires, frame, glass, panels, mechanical parts, seating, dashboard, and installed features.
• Carry out basic mechanical inspections across powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
• Detect and record damage, missing parts, or non-functional features.
• Establish trust with dealer clients and provide education on Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.
• Engage with dealers to boost inspection volume and sustain active involvement.
• Leverage data, insights, and partner feedback to enhance inspection efficiency and productivity in the territory.
• Adjust to changes in daily appointments and schedules to ensure adequate dealer coverage.
• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.
• Utilize Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.
• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other Manheim teams to ensure client success.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement and Lean process enhancement initiatives.
• Meet production expectations while adhering to safety, health, compliance, and Manheim inspection standards.
• Engage in Safety Excellence initiatives.
• Level 2: Independently perform detailed and complex inspections, manage schedules, develop client relationships, and support continual enhancement.
• Senior Level: Conduct advanced inspections, mentor colleagues, assist with onboarding, and act as a subject matter resource.
• Must possess or be willing to obtain a NY State Body Damage Estimator License by the time of hire.
• A valid driver's license with a safe driving history is required.
• Capability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role within the necessary timeframes.
• Level 1: A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Level 1: Basic automotive knowledge is preferred (body and mechanical).
• Level 1: 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred.
• Level 2: A High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of experience in a related field; alternatives include any degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Level 2: 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred.
• Senior Level: A High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field; alternatives include any degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.
• Senior Level: Previous experience in vehicle inspection is required.
• Senior Level: Strong automotive knowledge (body and mechanical) is required.
• Senior Level: 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred.
• Senior Level: 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.
• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Performance incentive based on inspection volume: $750/month at target volume, with top performers earning $1,000+/month.
• Guaranteed incentive during the first three full months of employment.
• Reimbursement for business use of a personal vehicle is provided.
• A minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off each month.
