This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +26 more states.
• Oversee the strategic design, development, and advancement of ServiceTrade's native iOS and Android applications.
• Co-manage the mobile technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with product and business strategies.
• Define and enhance mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM and MVI.
• Create modular codebases and set architectural guidelines along with review practices.
• Advocate for best practices on native platforms and assess emerging technologies and frameworks.
• Perform architectural reviews and pinpoint areas for optimization.
• Mentor mobile developers to encourage ongoing learning and technical excellence.
• Lead the integration of AI-assisted development methodologies, agentic workflows, and tools.
• Develop a test automation strategy for unit and integration testing while collaborating with QA for comprehensive end-to-end coverage.
• Conduct code reviews and set coding standards.
• Work with Design and UX teams to ensure proper technical implementation and design systems.
• Manage and enhance CI/CD and build pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions and Fastlane.
• Collaborate on release processes for both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
• Maintain feature flag and remote configuration systems to ensure safe rollouts.
• Establish release management protocols and documentation.
• Oversee offline-first data synchronization architecture, including conflict resolution, data consistency, caching, and local storage optimization.
• Collaborate with Product Management to convert requirements into scalable solutions, roadmaps, and insights into user behavior.
• Work with Backend, API, Web, Customer Support, Security, and Engineering Management teams.
• Communicate technical roadmaps and architectural decisions to leadership.
• Analyze telemetry data from Kibana, Crashlytics, and Pendo to identify performance issues, crashes, and user behavior trends.
• Lead efforts in performance optimization, profiling, benchmarking, and ensuring compatibility across supported OS versions and devices.
• Establish mobile security practices, implement OWASP MASVS, support Cobalt penetration tests, and assess third-party dependencies and SDKs.
• Over 7 years of professional experience in mobile application development, including at least 3 years in an architect or technical lead position.
• Demonstrated experience with AI-assisted development tools; practical understanding of their benefits and limitations.
• Proven ability to assist engineering teams in adopting AI tools that genuinely enhance output and quality.
• Extensive hands-on experience with native Android development (Kotlin) and iOS development (Swift).
• Established experience in releasing and managing applications on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
• Strong grasp of mobile architecture patterns, design principles, and scalable code organization.
• Background in designing and implementing offline-first architectures and data synchronization patterns.
• High proficiency with REST APIs, backend integration, and asynchronous programming (Combine, Rx, Kotlin Coroutines, or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of mobile security principles, including data encryption, secure storage, and authentication methods.
• Experience in managing and enhancing CI/CD pipelines and build automation for mobile applications.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Exceptional leadership and mentoring abilities with a proven capacity to influence technical decisions and develop team members.
• Experience integrating mobile payment solutions such as Stripe or similar.
• Familiarity with cross-platform frameworks like .NET MAUI, React Native, or Flutter.
• Experience with the Google Firebase ecosystem, including Crashlytics, Analytics, and Remote Config.
• Familiarity with Pendo or similar product analytics and in-app engagement tools.
• Familiarity with performance monitoring and profiling tools for mobile applications.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security testing methodologies (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning).
• Experience with feature flag management and remote configuration systems.
• Familiarity with SaaS or field service application architecture.
• Previous experience in a growth-stage technology company addressing technical scaling challenges.
