Business Architect – Part-Time Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Convert the billing model in Zuora into actionable data requirements for the integration team.

• Oversee business analysis for elements not addressed by Zuora’s professional services, including custom billing rules, revenue recognition, and reporting.

• Support finance and business stakeholders in transitioning from a legacy accounting system to Zuora.

• Analyze Zuora’s data model and billing logic to assist the integration team in overcoming obstacles.

• Serve as a partial platform advisor rather than functioning as a full platform administrator.

• Lead discussions and trade-off conversations with the controller and finance stakeholders.

• Ensure continuity of stakeholder communication and technical context during a planned handover or coverage period.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

• Demonstrated experience in business analysis, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and gap analysis.

• Strong knowledge of the subscription and billing domain, encompassing recurring revenue, invoicing, and the payment lifecycle.

• Data literacy, with the capability to interpret pipeline logic, validate data flows, and perform quality assurance on outputs.

• Proficient stakeholder facilitation skills, including conducting workshops, creating decision documents, and framing trade-offs for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Previous experience with ERP or accounting system migration or transformation.

• Ability to independently familiarize oneself and learn a new billing platform’s data model and business context with minimal supervision.

• Advanced proficiency in conversational English.

• Executive-facing communication skills adequate for direct interaction with a US-based controller and finance team.

• Familiarity with the Zuora platform across billing, revenue, and CPQ modules.

• Awareness of the GCP ecosystem, including BigQuery, Looker, and Data Studio.

• Knowledge of change management frameworks such as ADKAR or Kotter.

• Zuora Certified Administrator or Revenue Analyst certification is preferred.
