This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Create Mission Autonomy products that enhance the operation of Group 5 autonomous air vehicles.
• Lead product development throughout the entire lifecycle, from the initial requirements phase to deployment.
• Establish product roadmaps and schedules, steer cross-functional product decisions, and manage engineering risks.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders and business development teams to assess trade-offs and investigate preliminary designs.
• Formulate autonomy behaviors and related product requirements, working alongside engineering teams for implementation.
• Work together with software, hardware, and testing engineers, as well as program managers, to determine testing requirements and align system capabilities with mission goals.
• Plan, execute, and evaluate mission autonomy tests in simulated real-world environments.
• Rapidly iterate to enhance autonomy behaviors and related products.
• Serve as the product representative in customer engagements, demonstrations, and exercises to support business development.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date product capability presentation templates for customer briefings.
• Practical experience as a Pilot or CSO/NFO of USAF, USN, USMC 4th or 5th generation fighter/bomber aircraft or RPAs.
• Self-motivated individual with a strong sense of ownership and a mission-driven mindset.
• Exceptional analytical capabilities, including the ability to interpret test data, diagnose system behaviors, and suggest actionable improvements.
• Detail-oriented and organized, possessing strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to meet project milestones and deliverables.
• Experience leading system design and development from initial concept through to customer delivery.
• Ability to utilize operational experience and technical expertise to make informed decisions and engineering trade-offs in the absence of clear customer requirements.
• Willing to work flexible hours as needed.
• Up to 25% travel required for customer engagements and product development activities.
• Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance and experience with Special Access Programs.
• Preferred experience as a pilot of 5th generation aircraft.
• Background as a weapons school instructor, weapons school graduate, test pilot school graduate, or in Developmental or Operational Testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience in a pertinent area.
• Direct experience in developing, testing, and deploying mission autonomy systems within a defense or aerospace context.
• Understanding of agile software development methodologies.
• Awareness of current industry and military standards relevant to unmanned aerial systems and their operation within national airspace.
• Familiarity with mission autonomy, unmanned systems, and the integration of multiple assets into cohesive operational frameworks.
• Base salary range of $166,000–$220,000 USD.
