This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Utilize an iterative design thinking approach to tackle intricate issues in strategic planning, process enhancement, technology integration, evolution, and service provision.
• Lead discovery and innovation workshops for government and other stakeholders employing human-centered methodologies and best practices.
• Integrate research and data into engaging narratives and insights that drive service and technology advancements.
• Collaborate with product owners, clinicians, program leaders, and end-users to discern needs, challenges, and opportunities throughout the product lifecycle.
• Develop wireframes, prototypes, visual designs, and interaction frameworks tailored for various stakeholders.
• Design and facilitate customized interventions and workshops to enhance organizational and team performance.
• Implement Human-Centered Design principles through empathetic interviewing, needs evaluation, co-design facilitation, and iterative refinement.
• Ensure designs align with the platform design system, UX philosophy, and Total Experience objectives.
• Engage in usability testing, user interviews, and field validation with clinical staff and patients; refine designs based on findings.
• Assist developers during implementation and uphold design integrity throughout the product lifecycle.
• Coordinate interviews with stakeholders and clinical users; assess mockups and prototypes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define features that resolve clinical and operational user issues; create intricate prototypes utilizing data or innovative technology.
• Utilize analytics and data to enhance user interfaces, clinical workflows, and overall user experience.
• Support the design of data capture interfaces, dashboards, and reporting tools.
• Contribute to design standards, ensure 508 accessibility compliance, and develop scalable design systems.
• Create internal HTML and CSS style guidelines.
• Apply Agile best practices, including participation in backlogs and iterative delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Health Informatics, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience in UX/UI or product design, with a proven track record in federal, healthcare, or clinical settings.
• Portfolio showcasing enterprise application design, preferably within military, federal health, or business process enhancement contexts.
• Proficient understanding of Human-Centered Design (HCD) or Design Thinking methodologies, including needs assessments and co-design facilitation.
• Proven experience applying design thinking/HCD principles and tools to address client challenges.
• Expertise in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Strong background in visual design, interaction design, accessibility, and responsive layouts.
• Familiarity with UX principles, patterns, and 508 compliance for secure government environments.
• Capability to analyze usage data and convert it into meaningful product and design guidance.
• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS; foundational understanding of JavaScript.
• Eligibility to obtain public trust; must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Familiarity with Advana and War Data Platform.
• Preferred experience in Databricks UI/UX development.
• Experience with Total Experience (TX) design.
• Experience with Agile delivery practices, including backlog management and iterative user-centered development.
• UX-related certification from Nielsen Norman Group, LUMA Institute, Human Factors International, GeneralAssembly, or equivalent.
• Active TS/SCI clearance or eligibility is preferred.
