This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +5 more states.
• Maintain regular communication with customers through both in-person and virtual meetings.
• Create and implement strategic account plans for both short- and long-term objectives.
• Assess the progress of account plans and provide updates concerning sales budgets.
• Identify customer requirements and work together with Marketing, Product Management, Product Development, Customer Service, and Finance to deliver appropriate products and solutions.
• Gather and report marketing insights.
• Observe trends, competitive actions, product advancements, and market reach.
• Suggest strategies to retain current business and expand into new markets.
• Organize, plan, and execute regular calls with assigned accounts.
• Lead meetings to ensure multi-level company support and foster relationships.
• Oversee contracts and pricing, including negotiation processes.
• Keep accurate sales projections and achieve budgetary and growth objectives.
• Address customer inquiries related to samples and technical, quality, and regulatory information.
• Assist customers in the effective use and application of products.
• Adhere to corporate guidelines and protocols.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as necessary.
• A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory, with an MBA preferred.
• A technical degree is advantageous.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in sales or business development is required.
• The most recent 2+ years should involve managing multiple accounts in the food ingredient sector.
• Strong skills in leadership, relationship development, and negotiation are essential.
• A demonstrated history of formulating and implementing strategic plans is necessary.
• Strong understanding of business operations is required.
• Capability to lead and foster cross-functional initiatives across various organizational levels.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% with overnight stays is essential.
