This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Deliver designated course material in a digital learning environment.
• Offer instruction, support, and guidance to students.
• Oversee the learning process while focusing on the individual needs of students.
• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system.
• Collaborate closely with students and their parents/learning coaches to enhance student learning towards set objectives.
• Provide dynamic and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
• Tailor learning experiences for each student.
• Differentiate instruction according to student mastery levels.
• Supplement course content using suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools, under the direction of the principal and coach.
• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.
• Notify administrators of any concerns related to student performance and progress.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with families.
• Communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents.
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional inquiries and basic troubleshooting in the virtual classroom.
• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and other school-related obligations.
• Florida 5 Year Professional 5-9 OR 6-12 English Certificate.
• Reading Endorsement.
• ESOL Endorsement.
• Residency in Florida.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Active state teaching license.
• Ability to pass a required background check.
• Capacity to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Ability to maintain a professional home office without distractions during work hours, typically from 9-5 (or 8-4), or as defined by the school.
• Experience working with the specified age group.
• Experience in supporting both adults and children with technology usage.
• Experience teaching in an online (virtual) or traditional classroom setting.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms.
• Ability to interpret and generate numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data and utilize it for instructional decisions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
