This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Deliver designated course content in an online setting
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance to students
• Oversee the learning process with an emphasis on individual student needs
• Track student progress via Stride K12’s learning management system
• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to further educational goals
• Offer engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
• Customize learning experiences for each student
• Differentiate instruction according to student mastery levels
• Enhance course content utilizing suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools under the supervision of the principal and coach
• Keep the grade book updated and uphold student academic integrity
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion
• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress
• Prepare students for significant standardized assessments
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with families
• Communicate efficiently and promptly with students and learning coaches/parents
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting
• Travel for professional development, student assessments, and other school-related duties
• Florida 5 Year Professional 5-9 OR 6-12 English Certificate
• Reading Endorsement
• ESOL Endorsement
• Residency in Florida
• Bachelor's degree
• Active state teaching license
• Capability to pass a required background check
• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week
• Capacity to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during working hours
• Willingness to travel as needed, averaging once a month and/or around 20% of the time
• Experience working with the specified age group
• Experience assisting adults and children in utilizing technology
• Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or traditional brick-and-mortar setting
• Familiarity with online learning platforms
• Ability to collaborate with other educators to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data
• Capability to leverage student data to inform instructional decisions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Commitment to maintaining teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
