Mid-Level Java Developer – AWS, AI Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.

📋 Description

• Develop, test, and maintain applications and services based on Java.

• Assist in designing and implementing solutions utilizing AWS cloud services.

• Help build and sustain applications that are scalable, secure, and reliable.

• Collaborate with architects, senior developers, and stakeholders to convert business requirements into technical solutions.

• Integrate AI solutions or AI-enabled services into applications as required.

• Diagnose application issues and support resolution across development, testing, and production environments.

• Engage in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning sessions.

• Produce clean, efficient, and maintainable code in accordance with established standards and best practices.

• Assist in API development, system integration, and application enhancements.

• Contribute to activities related to cloud migration, modernization, and deployment.

• Aid in maintaining documentation for application design, technical processes, and support protocols.

• Work collaboratively with team members in an agile development setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• 8 years of experience with a BA/BS degree, or 6 years of experience with an MA/MS degree.

• Strong practical experience in Java development.

• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and support for cloud-based applications.

• Experience working with AI solutions, AI-enabled applications, or AI integration.

• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.

• Experience with software development lifecycle processes and agile methodologies.

• Strong skills in troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving.

• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.

• The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

• Preferred: Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate, or JPA.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.

• Preferred: Experience with cloud deployment tools and infrastructure-as-code, such as CloudFormation or Terraform.

• Preferred: Familiarity with AI/ML tools, generative AI solutions, or model integration.

• Preferred: Experience with database technologies such as SQL, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.

• Preferred: Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting cloud migration or modernization initiatives.

• Preferred: Knowledge of cloud security best practices and IAM concepts.
