Mid-Level Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya.

📋 Description

• Execute essential accounting tasks, which include documenting transactions and reconciling general ledger accounts.

• Ensure precise record-keeping for multiple entities, involving complex reconciliations and monthly fund statements.

• Assist with daily reconciliations, month-end closings, and compliance with accounting standards (US GAAP, IFRS) as well as tax research.

• Aid in regulatory filings and meet local compliance obligations across various jurisdictions.

• Offer accounting, tax, filing, and administrative assistance as necessary.

• Identify areas for documentation and process enhancements while maintaining professional and technical expertise.

• Report directly to the Head of Finance and Operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.

• 3–5 years of pertinent accounting experience.

• CPA level 4 or higher.

• Strong analytical, technical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Proficient in Excel and financial analysis tools, including graphs, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs.

• Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite, QuickBooks, and/or Xero is preferred.

• Experience in fund/non-profit accounting and regulatory filing is advantageous.

• High levels of ownership, accountability, initiative, and integrity.

• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Discretion in handling confidential information.

• Willingness to work approximately 1400–2200 EAT and exceed 8 hours per day as required during peak times.
