Microsoft Purview Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Create, execute, and evaluate data governance and compliance policies, which encompass data classification, labeling, and data loss prevention (DLP) strategies.

• Continuously monitor and enhance policies to ensure alignment with regulatory standards.

• Set up and configure Microsoft Purview along with integrated Microsoft 365 services.

• Oversee and manage role groups, custom roles, and permissions within the Purview portal.

• Safeguard sensitive information against internal and external risks.

• Deploy information protection and insider risk management solutions.

• Address data protection incidents and engage in security investigations.

• Administer and assist eDiscovery workflows, including data collection, searching, and exporting for legal and compliance teams.

• Collaborate effectively with data architects, analysts, IT, security teams, and business application stakeholders.

• Implement solutions and uphold governance best practices.

• Offer training and support to users regarding data protection tools and policies.

• Monitor the performance of the Purview service and resolve any issues that arise.

• Ensure optimal performance and seamless integration with other platforms.

• Conduct regular audits and evaluations of data governance practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with over 8 years of progressive IT experience (or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree).

• Must be a US Citizen.

• Capability to obtain a public trust clearance as per contract requirements.

• Practical experience in Microsoft Purview administration.

• Strong comprehension of data governance, data security, and compliance principles.

• Proficient in data loss prevention (DLP), data classification, and sensitivity labeling.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 environments and associated services, such as Microsoft Entra ID.

• Knowledge of scripting languages, like PowerShell, is advantageous.

• Experience with risk assessments and audits.

• Ability to design and implement security and compliance policies.

• Exceptional collaboration and communication abilities.
