MFLC Assignment Ready Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver coverage for short-term, surge, on-demand situations, summer camps, and backfill scenarios in support of the MFLC program.

• Offer non-medical, short-term, solution-oriented counseling to adults, children, and youth affiliated with service members.

• Perform assessments, provide brief counseling, consultation, action planning, referrals, resource linkage, and follow-up.

• Assist CDC, DoDEA, community schools, youth programs, and summer camp staff and personnel in CYB assignments.

• Conduct training and provide guidance for parents.

• Present training sessions and health and wellness presentations, and engage in health fairs and installation activities.

• Log counselor activity data daily via a smartphone or web application while ensuring confidentiality and anonymity.

• Build collaborative relationships with community resources and ensure appropriate linkages.

• Collaborate with installation/facility Points of Contact to deliver Adult and CYB services.

• Handle duty-to-warn and restricted-reporting situations in accordance with DoD protocols.

• Engage in individual and group supervision, communicating trends and issues to Regional Supervisors.

• Address critical incidents and respond to special requests as instructed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's Degree from an accredited graduate program in a mental health-related field or social work.

• Valid independent licensure as a behavioral health clinician that meets state, Commonwealth, or customer-specific criteria.

• Willingness to accept short-notice assignments of undefined durations, including weekends.

• Capability to undertake full-time assignments lasting from a weekend up to two weeks.

• Prior clinical work experience is required.

• Proficiency in quickly establishing rapport with service personnel, family members, students, parents, and colleagues.

• Flexibility to adapt to new working conditions and varying location regulations.

• Ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision and guidance.

• Capacity to participate in in-services, training, Quality Improvement committees, and other contract activities on short notice.

• Quick response ability to emergent situations and ability to navigate indoor/outdoor military installations and school environments, including uneven terrain and stairs.

• Compliance with assignment-specific immunization or vaccination mandates.

• Proof of U.S. citizenship is required.

• Fluency in English is mandatory.

• Advanced knowledge of brief therapy and solution-focused counseling techniques.

• Desired qualifications include prior military service, experience with military families, or strong familiarity with military culture.

• CYB positions necessitate Magellan MFLC CYB experience with children and youth, along with a specialty in child/adolescent development or psychology.

• Ability to adhere to line-of-sight protocols when working with children.

• Possession of a current valid driver's license among the required certifications.
