MES Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist project and program leaders in gathering and establishing business, functional, and technical requirements.

• Aid in the design specification processes and create Functional Design Specification documents.

• Collaborate with project leaders to outline project tasks and timelines.

• Communicate task progress to project leaders.

• Operate independently while receiving guidance from the technical lead.

• Comprehend and resolve issues related to software development, branch/release conflicts, and engineering challenges.

• Implement project best practices and contribute to operational enhancements.

• Generate validation and testing specifications.

• Perform unit, regression, integration, and functional testing in conjunction with project leaders.

• Educate and mentor end users on MES solutions.

• Facilitate solution acceptance through documentation for Functional Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests.

• Act as a Functional Analyst in MES/MOM implementation initiatives.

• Engage in customer-facing functional dialogues.

• Assist in evaluating end-user requirements and aligning current applications with new implementations.

• Develop troubleshooting methods for MES implementation and front-end logic, including integrations with ERP and automation systems.

• Provide support for system modifications.

• Recognize implementation risks alongside project leaders.

• Detect security and performance issues, as well as application vulnerabilities, and propose solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience with Siemens MES Camstar and/or Opcenter solutions.

• Proficient in interfacing MES with third-party systems, such as DeltaV, Siemens PCS7, Siemens SIMATIC Batch, and Rockwell PLCs/SCADA.

• Familiarity with programming languages including C#, Java, C++, VBA/VBScript, and Python.

• Experience in Mendix programming.

• Understanding of software release management across DEV, QA, and PROD environments.

• Experience managing pull requests, merge operations, solution building, deployment, unit testing, and regression testing.

• Proficiency with Team Foundation Server and/or Jira is highly recommended.

• Strong capability to work effectively in teams, including virtual settings.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• High adaptability to learn new technologies.

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is mandatory.

• A solid background in MES and manufacturing processes in either Process or Discrete industries is preferred.
