Mental Health Therapist, Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Conduct mental health evaluations and provide skills-based teletherapy to students in elementary, middle, and high schools.

• Collaborate with school counselors and other pertinent providers through phone calls, emails, and virtual meetings.

• Establish trusted relationships with school personnel and families to enhance students' mental health and engagement in school.

• Offer psycho-educational resources and support to parents and caregivers.

• Work alongside Cartwheel MDs and NPs in treatment planning, care delivery, and transition strategies.

• Collaborate with the External Referrals team to facilitate connections to community mental health and primary care providers.

• Engage in case consultations and discussions with team members at Cartwheel.

• Contribute to the development of Cartwheel’s clinical programming and Care Team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.

• Active Louisiana license to provide independent mental health care without supervision (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or PhD/PsyD, etc.).

• Proficient in CBT, DBT, ACT, solution-focused therapy, and/or motivational interviewing.

• Experience in delivering care through telehealth platforms.

• Strong technical skills and the capability to adapt to new systems, such as Zoom, GSuite, electronic health record systems, and other collaborative tools.

• Reliable access to a high-speed internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps download, 10 Mbps upload).

• Exceptional organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities.

• Availability to provide care during peak hours (Monday to Friday 3-8 pm ET and Saturday 8-5).

• Proficiency in additional languages, such as Spanish or Portuguese, is a plus.

• Experience in a shorter-term care delivery model is advantageous.

• Background in parent guidance is an added benefit.

• An active NPI number is a plus.

• Completion of CAQH credentialing setup is a plus.

• Must present acceptable documentation to verify identity and work authorization.
