Mental Health Therapist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Provide compassionate, evidence-driven mental health care through a secure, virtual-first platform.

• Deliver evidence-based therapy—individual, family, and group—to children, adolescents, and adults.

• Foster strong therapeutic relationships while supporting diverse patient populations.

• Collaborate remotely with clinical leadership, psychiatrists, PMHNPs, primary care physicians, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.

• Perform comprehensive assessments of behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs.

• Create individualized treatment plans that align with client objectives.

• Implement therapeutic modalities such as CBT and DBT.

• Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.

• Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment outcomes.

• Communicate treatment plans, progress updates, and recommendations to clients, families, and stakeholders.

• Offer crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute distress.

• Create safety plans and strategies to prevent or manage crises.

• Educate clients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping mechanisms.

• Provide care virtually while adhering to quality, documentation, and access standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health discipline.

• Active independent clinical licensure in at least one of Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia.

• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience delivering therapy to youth, adults, and individuals facing behavioral health challenges.

• Experience treating patients aged 13 and older.

• Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and interventions.

• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, documentation, and organizational abilities.

• Experience providing telehealth services.

• Background in working with specialized populations or treatment areas such as trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, or grief and loss.

• Familiarity with Athena One EHR and electronic health record documentation standards.

• Full-time availability for 40 hours per week.

• Capacity to maintain a weekly caseload of approximately 28 to 32 patient visits while meeting quality, documentation, and access standards.
