Mental Health Patient Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Coordinate all patient appointments with providers, referring physicians, and facilities across various states.

• Convey essential information to patients and staff, including details about insurance coverage, financial obligations, and appointment schedules.

• Deliver warm, friendly, and outstanding customer service in interactions with patients, referral sources, and team members.

• Accurately schedule, reschedule, and cancel both initial and follow-up appointments using established practice scheduling protocols and tools.

• Provide polite and precise information regarding services to physicians and other callers.

• Respond promptly and effectively to requests from patients, providers, and team members.

• Maintain and update patient information while keeping a thorough understanding of insurance protocols.

• Utilize eligibility systems, online resources, or phone inquiries to ascertain insurance benefits.

• Inform patients and guarantors about their benefits and financial responsibilities.

• Address billing questions, collect out-of-pocket payments, and accurately process transactions.

• Clearly explain insurance coverage and financial responsibilities to patients.

• Communicate any insurance-related issues and collaborate with billing teams to resolve coverage discrepancies.

• Manage insurance panels effectively.

• Secure approvals for scheduling changes or cancellations when necessary.

• Achieve goals and objectives set by management.

• Escalate issues to management as needed.

• Perform additional duties based on patient requirements.

• Comply with quality and productivity standards.
