This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Facilitate and support organizational compliance with MHPAEA and relevant state mental health parity regulations.
• Assist in the execution and upkeep of Non Quantitative Treatment Limitation (NQTL) analyses, including documentation, comparative assessments, and readiness for regulatory review.
• Oversee benefit designs, utilization management practices, provider network criteria, reimbursement methods, and administrative functions to ensure parity compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams and delegated vendors to collect necessary data, policies, procedures, and evidence for parity assessments.
• Monitor regulatory guidance, enforcement actions, and evolving parity requirements; assist in implementing necessary changes.
• Aid in regulatory examinations, audits, and information requests associated with mental health parity.
• Record findings, risks, mitigation strategies, and corrective actions; maintain organized and audit-ready parity documentation.
• Coordinate issue resolution and follow up with internal stakeholders to ensure timely remediation of identified deficiencies.
• Provide education and guidance to internal teams regarding mental health parity requirements and compliance standards.
• Participate in cross-functional workgroups and compliance committees concerning behavioral health, benefits, and regulatory oversight.
• Assist with ongoing compliance reporting and provide leadership updates as requested.
• Keep accurate records in alignment with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Meet departmental and organizational performance expectations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Work in a standard office environment equipped with ergonomically designed equipment.
• Travel approximately 10% of the time.
• Engage in physical activities including stooping, bending, sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods, repetitive typing, sorting, filing, and light lifting and carrying of files and business materials.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare compliance, behavioral health, utilization management, regulatory analysis, the health insurance industry, or another medical setting is required.
• Experience with mental health parity, behavioral health operations, Medicaid, Medicare, or commercial health plan administration is preferred.
• Familiarity with regulatory audits, document reviews, and cross-functional coordination is preferred.
• A bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, business, legal studies, or a related field is required.
• Candidates with an associate’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma and 4 years of relevant experience, along with the required minimum work experience will also be considered.
• Advanced education or compliance-related certifications are preferred.
• Strong understanding of health insurance operations and regulatory compliance principles.
• Knowledge of MHPAEA and behavioral health benefit administration is preferred.
• Ability to analyze policies, processes, and comparative data to identify compliance risks.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and attention to detail skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and work independently with minimal supervision.
