This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Create and uphold scientific knowledge for the credible dissemination of information to external experts and healthcare professionals.
• Cultivate and develop relationships with both established and emerging external experts.
• Respond to inquiries by providing scientific and medical information to external experts and internal stakeholders.
• Engage in and follow up on investigator-initiated studies, clinical studies, and medical projects within the therapeutic area.
• Offer scientific support while maintaining relationships with external experts and academic centers.
• Deliver trustworthy scientific presentations to healthcare professionals, whether individually or in groups.
• Participate in the selection of qualified healthcare professionals for collaborative research and support for lectures/meetings.
• Ensure the scientific and educational integrity of collaborative efforts.
• Attend relevant scientific meetings and conferences, preparing summaries of key data.
• This role covers Western Canada, with the position based in either Vancouver or Calgary.
• An advanced educational degree is required: Doctorate, PharmD, or MD.
• Relevant business experience with a solid understanding of the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
• Previous experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is preferred.
• A background in Psychiatry is considered an asset.
• Prior experience in a customer-facing role within the healthcare industry.
• Experience in presenting and/or interpreting scientific or clinical research publications.
• Knowledge of scientific methods applied to clinical research and current legislative/regulatory controls.
• A strong interest in developing and maintaining expert knowledge for the assigned therapeutic area/product and medical research.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
• Comfort with technology and various tools/systems for daily tasks.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
• A valid driver’s license and passport.
• Ability to understand stakeholder unmet needs, make impactful decisions, and integrate information into field team engagement strategies.
• Capacity to coordinate scientific and medical engagement efforts across stakeholders within a single account.
• A deep understanding and execution of meaningful strategies and data-driven business decisions.
• Proficient in communicating, collaborating, and incorporating input from other in-field team members.
