This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.
• Contribute a clinical and scientific viewpoint to the local execution plan aimed at addressing customer challenges, issues, and opportunities.
• Coordinate the implementation of field activities.
• Establish, nurture, and utilize relationships with key scientific and medical customers and organizations within the designated territory.
• Engage with Key Influencers, Local Practice Leaders, Key Decision Makers, healthcare providers, and patient advocacy stakeholders.
• Develop and sustain a thorough understanding of the ecosystem while aligning with Otsuka’s patient-centric strategy.
• Provide evidence-based clinical, economic, and humanistic information regarding Otsuka and its products.
• Collaborate with providers and stakeholders to implement real-world solutions that enhance patient outcomes.
• Foster internal working relationships across the matrix team and execute local medical strategies.
• Share disease-state and healthcare landscape information with field customers.
• Deliver clinical and data-focused training for promotional and disease-state speakers.
• Support Otsuka’s speaker bureau and fulfill product educational requirements.
• Gather and submit medical insights to guide decision-making and evidence-generation priorities.
• Assist in clinical trials, encompassing registrational, post-marketing, and investigator-sponsored studies.
• Offer clinical expertise and feedback on the selection and performance of clinical trial sites.
• Mentor peers, new hires, and aid in therapeutic function development.
• Support Safety & Pharmacovigilance, Sales Training medical education, and the Field Medical Center of Excellence.
• MD/DO, PharmD, or PhD in life sciences is mandatory.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical industry Medical Affairs is required.
• A solid understanding of the interconnectivity of health systems and the overall delivery of patient care is essential.
• Experience interacting with healthcare professionals and other decision-makers is crucial.
• Strong business acumen along with knowledge of the industry, Otsuka’s business model and value proposition, key competitors, and marketplace factors/dynamics is necessary.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities are a must.
• Strong conflict resolution skills and the capacity to operate cross-functionally are required.
• Ability to lead others and project teams with a strategic mindset is essential.
• Proficiency in summarizing and conveying complex information and business objectives in a concise and effective manner is needed.
• A strong understanding of the industry’s legal, regulatory, and compliance landscape is important.
• Capability to thrive in an ambiguous environment undergoing transformation is necessary.

• Willingness to travel by air or car up to 70% of the time based on territory size is required.
