Medical Case Manager II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Deliver in-person and telephonic Medical Case Management services to injured workers.

• Engage patients, physicians, healthcare providers, employers, and referral sources in the case management process.

• Leverage medical and nursing expertise to discuss current and alternative treatment options with physicians.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient progress effectively.

• Review treatment plans for suitability, medical necessity, and cost-effectiveness.

• Attend visits with doctors, providers, at home, and occasionally with attorneys.

• Participate in discharge planning conferences at hospitals and long-term care facilities.

• Identify the appropriateness of care and create effective long-term care strategies.

• Conduct home visits for initial patient evaluations.

• Negotiate the provision of durable medical equipment and nursing services.

• Manage a caseload of workers’ compensation injured workers within a specific jurisdiction.

• Collaborate with patients, families, medical providers, team members, and other stakeholders.

• Undertake regular local travel, with potential overnight travel required.

• Carry out additional duties as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Registered nurse (RN) qualification.

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.

• Current RN licensure in the state where services are provided.

• Experience as an RN Medical Case Manager is preferred.

• Clinical experience in orthopedics, neurology, or rehabilitation is advantageous.

• Certification as a CCM, CIRS, or other Case Management certification is preferred.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license.

• Access to reliable transportation.

• Capability to travel to designated locations.

• Must live in the Greater Spokane area.

• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.

• Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.

• Proficiency in computer use and technical skills.

• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office, including Excel spreadsheets.

• Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Availability for local travel up to approximately 60% of the work week/month.

• Overnight travel may be necessary.
