This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead clinical engagement initiatives and devise as well as implement medical account strategies for key Managed Markets accounts of strategic importance.
• Act as the main Medical Affairs contact for essential payers, providing both proactive and reactive clinical and HEOR information.
• Cultivate and sustain clinical relationships with C-suite executives, Pharmacy Directors, Medical Directors, healthcare providers, and other crucial decision makers.
• Oversee internal collaborations with Market Access, Medical Operations, HEOR, Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Managed Markets teams.
• Deliver scientific leadership, product updates, sophisticated scientific presentations, and formulary presentations.
• Formulate medical account strategies and plans through the development of key relationships and collaborative opportunities.
• Collect customer insights regarding Novo Nordisk and competitor products to guide medical and commercial decision-making.
• Organize and present Managed Markets presentations, symposia, and educational sessions for healthcare providers.
• Support strategic initiatives, team training, mentorship, and the exchange of best practices.
• Counsel senior leadership on Managed Markets strategy and execution.
• Create and implement medical account plans for key strategic and priority accounts.
• Facilitate potential pharmacoeconomic studies initiated by Managed Care and manage research grant requests.
• Collaborate on scientific strategies to enhance Novo Nordisk products and development efforts.
• Identify, manage, and coordinate medical support requirements at significant Managed Markets accounts.
• Provide monthly activity reports and oversee budgets, OSS records, and Concur expenses.
• Willingness to travel overnight 50–75% of the time.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in a health-related system, pharmaceutical company, or managed care environment.
• At least 3 years of experience in a field medical liaison role or managed care setting.
• An advanced degree may be accepted in lieu of experience in relevant situations.
• A PharmD or other doctoral degree (e.g., MD, PhD) with advanced professional licensure (e.g., NP, RPh) is required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical development and operations.
• Familiarity with FDA requirements.
• In-depth understanding of health economics and ability to conduct value-based discussions with key Managed Markets customers.
• Comprehensive understanding of the formulary process across various payer channels.
• Capability to function effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
• Advanced understanding of the US healthcare system, payers, reimbursement methods, and integrated health systems.
• Ability to engage critical Managed Markets customers and execute strategies in a dynamic healthcare/payer landscape.
• Proven leadership, strategic influencing, initiative, project management, analytical/problem-solving, relationship development, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility in technical expertise across various disease areas is preferred.
• Expert technical knowledge in a specific disease area and the ability to develop expertise across multiple disease areas.
• Familiarity with information/technology systems is preferred.
• Strong computer proficiency, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is preferred.
• Previous work experience in a Managed Markets setting is preferred.
• Experience in health economics and outcomes research is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Must maintain a good motor vehicle record and stay below Novo Nordisk’s points threshold.
