Mechanical Project Designer – Nuclear

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Operate under the guidance of the Mechanical Project Lead.

• Collaborate with diverse engineering and design project teams.

• Create mechanical physical layout drawings utilizing a 3-D model.

• Design mechanical systems while investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving mechanical design challenges.

• Utilize 3D modeling software to produce mechanical design schematics.

• Oversee the coordination of detailed design phases for integrated mechanical design models.

• Direct and assist designers and project team members to guarantee comprehensive and timely designs.

• Independently plan and implement design deliverables, which include general arrangements, piping isometrics, piping composites, pipe support drawings, and equipment location layouts.

• Perform field walkdowns and data collection at client facilities when necessary.

• Mentor junior drafters and designers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma with one or more years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.

• Over 15 years of detailed physical design experience in developing mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports.

• Proficient in design software tools for creating 3D plant layout models.

• Experience in reviewing mechanical equipment, including outlines and interface points, along with coordinating and developing related deliverables.

• Ability to collaborate with engineering and design teams from other disciplines in the power plant design process.

• Familiarity with SmartPlant 3D software.

• U.S. work authorization sponsorship is not available.

• Proficiency in MicroStation is preferred but not mandatory.
