This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Take ownership of the mechanical elements related to production test fixtures, jigs, and enclosures.
• Lead the maintenance and adjustment supervision across contract manufacturing sites.
• Assist in the mechanical readiness for New Product Introduction (NPI) and contribute a robust manufacturing perspective during hardware development reviews.
• Oversee the maintenance and ongoing enhancement of production testing setups, jigs, mechanical enclosures, and assembly tooling.
• Ensure compatibility, standardization, and smooth integration of jigs across various product lines and contract manufacturing sites.
• Manage and enforce maintenance and calibration protocols for all products and contract manufacturing locations.
• Create and maintain process documentation.
• Conduct quarterly maintenance audits at contract manufacturing facilities.
• Lead initiatives aimed at reducing calibration frequency.
• Carry out data-driven analyses of test equipment limits, including mating cycles and cable wear.
• Recommend and authorize limit extensions based on engineering data and risk assessments.
• Guide new products through achieving mechanical readiness milestones.
• Assist in station duplication and provide mechanical training for contract manufacturing technicians.
• Offer hands-on technical support to global contract manufacturers.
• Address mechanical gaps, fixture problems, and production roadblocks in real-time.
• Conduct organized quality audits at manufacturing sites, focusing on mechanical processes, fixture conditions, and maintenance compliance.
• Propel corrective actions.
• Identify potential mechanical issues early in the design phase.
• Review and process Engineering Change Orders related to fixtures, mechanical assemblies, and production tooling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience as a mechanical engineer in a production or manufacturing setting.
• Practical experience with the design of fixtures and jigs for electronics manufacturing or testing.
• Strong capability to read, interpret, and assess mechanical and assembly drawings.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Creo Parametric / SolidWorks / or similar).
• Understanding of maintenance and calibration procedures in high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Experience collaborating with contract manufacturers or Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) providers.
• Strong analytical abilities, including data-driven limit analysis and hazard evaluation.
• Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
