Mechanical Engineering Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Assist engineers and designers engaged in HVAC, plumbing, process, fuels, and various mechanical systems for building and infrastructure initiatives.

• Contribute to mechanical drawings, calculations, equipment research, reports, and other essential project documentation.

• Aid in the design and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, process, and associated mechanical systems.

• Engage in project meetings, site visits, field observations, and collaborative efforts across disciplines.

• Acquire practical experience in mechanical design principles, load calculations, technical software, energy efficiency, multidisciplinary coordination, and project delivery.

• Understand the application of engineering principles, design tools, codes, and technical standards in real-world projects.

• Learn how system loads, equipment selections, layouts, specifications, and project deliverables are formulated.

• Discover how mechanical systems are integrated with architectural, structural, electrical, and other project disciplines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Completion of pertinent coursework in engineering, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, HVAC, or related technical subjects.

• Basic understanding of mechanical engineering concepts.

• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit along with Microsoft Office applications.

• Preferred: Experience from internships, co-ops, or projects related to mechanical or building systems design.

• Preferred: Familiarity with load calculation, energy modeling, or equipment selection software.

• Preferred: Participation in ASHRAE, ASME, or similar professional organizations.
