Project Mechanical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the mechanical discipline across multiple projects simultaneously during pursuit, proposal, design, and construction phases.

• Guide design teams and provide mentorship to junior staff members.

• Create construction-ready design packages that include drawings and specifications with coordination across disciplines.

• Act as the Engineer of Record.

• Design HVAC systems and sustainable solutions in collaboration with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients.

• Develop budgets, proposals, schedules, project plans, and staffing strategies.

• Seek out potential clients and project opportunities.

• Travel to project sites for engineering surveys and data collection.

• Perform power system studies and conduct electrical system audits.

• Work in partnership with clients’ team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory for federal employment eligibility.

• Experience with federal projects is required.

• A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering is necessary.

• A minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience or more in consulting engineering and facility design is expected.

• Experience in producing IFC design packages for federal agency facilities is essential.

• Professional Engineering Licensure in the United States is required.

• Multiple state licenses are preferred.

• Familiarity with industry standards, including ASHRAE, UFC, UFGS, and relevant building codes.

• Proficiency in Revit, BIM, Autodesk Construction Cloud, AutoCAD, Trane Trace, and SpecsIntact.

• Excellent communication skills for presentations, project updates, and written documentation.

• Capability to foster positive relationships with both internal and external team members.

• Ability to identify and develop additional project opportunities.
