Mechanical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Prepare First Article Inspection (FAI) reports

• Interpret and analyze engineering drawings, including the definition and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Examine and comprehend Bills of Materials (BOM) that list components utilized in assembly

• Cross-check and align BOM components with delivery notes and supplier Certificates of Conformity (COC)

• Review and verify measurement reports provided by internal measurement departments

• Utilize systems thinking and problem-solving abilities to address discrepancies in technical documentation

• Ensure that manufactured components and supplier outputs conform to engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, and compliance standards

• Assist in component approval and confirm assembly integrity

⛳️ Requirements

• Background or qualification in mechanical engineering (engineering students are welcome to apply)

• Established ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings

• Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Proficiency in understanding and interpreting Bills of Materials (BOM)

• Proven attention to detail, systems-thinking mindset, and effective problem-solving skills

• Previous experience in compiling First Article Inspection (FAI) reports (preferred)

• Familiarity with matching delivery notes and Certificates of Conformity (COC) against BOMs (preferred)
