Mechanical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assist in and support efforts related to HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, process, and utility engineering.

• Carry out engineering and design tasks to guarantee the delivery of high-quality products.

• Foster team development by guiding and mentoring staff members.

• Utilize design criteria based on project specifics, codes, standards, and professional expertise.

• Analyze scopes of work, bases of design, field surveys, and conduct code research.

• Act as the engineer of record from the conceptual phase through the creation of construction documents and the administration of construction.

• Provide daily direction and mentorship to junior staff.

• Design layouts for distribution systems and equipment locations in collaboration with discipline and project teams.

• Execute system calculations and select and size system components.

• Review shop drawing submissions.

• Travel to job sites for field verification purposes.

• Write BOD narratives, design criteria documentation, engineering reports, and various other technical documents.

• Revise design specifications and address RFIs utilizing project documents, specifications, shop drawings, and design criteria.

• Take meeting notes, review project correspondence, and keep project design files organized.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution.

• At least 2 years of experience (post-degree) in an MEP Engineering Firm or an AE Firm.

• Professional Engineering (PE) License (EIT will be considered).

• Current/Active NCEES registration in good standing.

• Proficient in REVIT software.

• Experience with Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, or eQuest software.

• Strong expertise in fire protection, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and utility systems.

• Ability to integrate personal judgment with project information and knowledge of relevant codes and standards.

• Familiarity with hydronic systems is an advantage.

• Experience in healthcare facilities and central plant infrastructure is preferred.

• Familiarity with Psychrometric Chart, Ductulator, and Pipe Flow tools.

• Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD; knowledge of Creo Parametric is a plus.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Willingness and capability to work remotely.
