This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Conduct stress analysis design for ASME BPVC Section III Class 1, 2, and 3 NSSS piping systems utilizing Bentley AutoPIPE.

β€’ Design and evaluate piping components in accordance with ASME BPVC Section III Class 1, 2, and 3 using ANSYS.

β€’ Analyze ASME BPVC Section III NF pipe supports through hand calculations or ANSYS.

β€’ Execute static and dynamic analyses, encompassing response spectrum and time-history analysis for factors such as deadweight, thermal expansion, thermal gradients, seismic occurrences, and fluid transients.

β€’ Create and assess engineering specifications, drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation for NSSS piping components.

β€’ Collaborate with drafters and review models created in Siemens NX.

β€’ Lead the assessment of piping design solutions, including modifications to pipe routes and support configurations, ensuring compliance with stress criteria.

β€’ Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

β€’ Engage in intricate tasks across various domains while interpreting project scope and requirements.

β€’ Obtain, sustain, and enhance training qualifications.

β€’ Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering, ideally in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering, from an ABET-accredited four-year college or university.

β€’ An advanced degree is preferred.

β€’ A PE License in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering is desirable.

β€’ At least 8+ years of pertinent, full-time engineering experience is required.

β€’ In-depth expertise in the design and stress analysis of ASME BPVC Section III piping systems per NB, NC, or ND-3600 standards.

β€’ Familiarity with Bentley AutoPIPE is advantageous; experience with similar codes is acceptable.

β€’ Experience with ANSYS for ASME BPVC Section III piping components under NB-3200 is preferred.

β€’ Knowledge of ASME Section III NF is a plus.

β€’ Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

β€’ Comprehension and application of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and ASME NQA-1 quality assurance requirements are essential.

β€’ Ability to communicate effectively through phone, face-to-face interactions, and digital platforms.

β€’ Capability to adapt to new job functions and accurately apply concepts in a fast-paced environment.

β€’ Willingness to travel nationally and locally using common transportation methods.
