This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in comprehensive sports sustainability initiatives and environmental evaluations.
• Conduct material stream assessments, encompassing collection, sorting, contamination analysis, and interpretation of recycling, composting, landfill, reuse, and donation pathways.
• Facilitate sustainability assessments and solutions aimed at waste reduction, diversion, procurement, and life cycle evaluations.
• Assess end-of-life treatment options and identify opportunities for source reduction, reuse, recycling, composting, and vendor-practice enhancements.
• Analyze waste, procurement, and operational data to determine diversion rates, recognize trends, evaluate data quality, and produce customer-ready reports.
• Support sustainability assessments, implementation initiatives, and final environmental, social, and economic reports.
• Research and implement strategies for waste reduction and diversion.
• Create and deliver training materials for waste sorting, diversion objectives, back-of-house procedures, and event-day execution.
• Collaborate with haulers, suppliers, concessionaires, custodial teams, venue operators, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Assist in supplier engagement through data requests, follow-ups, and review of materials, packaging, hauling, and disposal information.
• Calculate waste diversion results using universal standards like UL and TRUE.
• Aid project managers with the on-site implementation of programs at stadiums and events.
• Integrate social sustainability priorities into waste reduction and GHG emissions strategies.
• Oversee data collection, management, analysis, and reporting workflows to ensure customer-ready delivery.
• Design strategies for data collection, including source mapping, data-owner identification, request templates, collection timelines, evidence requirements, and escalation paths.
• Collect, clean, reconcile, transform, and organize complex datasets while preserving source traceability.
• Develop data workflows, calculation models, data dictionaries, process documentation, QA/QC checks, and version-control practices.
• Evaluate data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and representativeness while identifying anomalies and gaps and escalating risks.
• Prepare customer-ready tables, visualizations, dashboards, reports, presentations, and methodology documentation.
• Support customer meetings by preparing materials, presenting findings, documenting decisions, and executing follow-up actions.
• Enhance templates, workflows, automation, and reporting structures for increased efficiency and scalability.
• Responsibly integrate AI-enabled tools and automation into materials management workflows.
• Maintain organized project records to ensure continuity, auditability, customer review, and compliance.
• Promote safety and adherence to safety, environmental, federal, state, and local regulations.
• Engage in self-education on sustainability topics, issues, and trends.
• Organize and interpret data.
• Must reside and work in the U.S.
• Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Sustainability, Business, or a related field, or a High School Diploma/GED (accredited) with four years of relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in project/business management beyond the education requirement.
• 3 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
• Strong preference for experience in waste management, material minimization and diversion programs, or sustainable material management planning.
• Experience analyzing data and compiling waste diversion reports.
• Background in working within sports venues and event operations or a similar facility.
• Foundational knowledge of sustainable materials management, waste hierarchy principles, circular economy concepts, and common end-of-life treatment pathways.
• Proficient understanding of waste reduction and diversion methods, including mechanical recycling, organics processing, and reuse.
• Advanced Excel capabilities, encompassing complex formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data validation, structured tables, and quality-control techniques.
• Strong data management skills, including data cleaning, reconciliation, transformation, documentation, file organization, and version control.
• Ability to assess data quality, identify anomalies and gaps, document assumptions and limitations, and formulate practical resolution strategies.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office and adaptability to new software, data platforms, and emissions-management systems.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and a willingness to responsibly incorporate them into workflows.
• Willingness to travel up to 35% to operational sites.
• Comfort with project travel lasting up to two weeks at a time.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required by events.
• Flexible to work remotely, in an office, or at a customer site.
• Capability to multitask across various projects.
• Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
