This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Create authentic materials-science or engineering assignments that reflect genuine professional experiences.
β’ Develop data rooms and evaluation criteria that allow for objective scoring of tasks.
β’ Execute tasks using AI models, assess outcomes and failures, and refine tasks to ensure effective discrimination.
β’ Partner with project leaders and other subject matter experts to establish quality benchmarks.
β’ Contribute to the training and improvement of cutting-edge AI systems through expert human input.
β’ Advanced expertise in materials science, covering areas such as metals, ceramics, composites, characterization, or additive manufacturing; or in electrical engineering, with a focus on analog, RF, or power; or in mechanical engineering, encompassing design, CFD and fluids, heat transfer, pressure vessels, NDE, or CAE.
β’ Comfortable with navigating uncertainty.
β’ Capable of articulating why an incorrect answer is wrong, rather than just identifying the correct answer.
β’ Engagement as an independent contractor.
β’ Candidates must not hold H1-B or STEM OPT statuses, as Mercor cannot accommodate these classifications.
β’ Work must not involve accessing confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
