This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
β’ Lead, mentor, and provide daily guidance to a team of Material Program Managers.
β’ Own and drive the integrated material strategy for designated programs.
β’ Align procurement, planning, inventory, supplier performance, quality, engineering, and production activities with program requirements and timelines.
β’ Conduct material readiness and Line of Balance reviews.
β’ Identify material constraints, gaps, and risks that may affect production and delivery schedules.
β’ Manage material risks and opportunities with specified program impacts, root causes, mitigation or recovery plans, responsible parties, and completion dates.
β’ Establish escalation procedures for critical material and supplier issues.
β’ Spearhead monthly and quarterly material forecasting processes.
β’ Analyze forecast performance against actual material usage, determine variances and root causes, and implement corrective measures.
β’ Collaborate with Procurement and Supplier Management to address critical supplier issues and recovery strategies.
β’ Support proposals, Estimates at Completion, material budgets, long-term material strategies, and program financial planning.
β’ Provide executive-level updates on material status, risks, forecast performance, supplier challenges, recovery actions, and leadership decisions.
β’ Bachelorβs Degree and a minimum of 9 years of relevant management experience; or a Graduate Degree or equivalent with 7 years of relevant management experience; or a minimum of 13 years of relevant management experience in lieu of a degree.
β’ Experience in aerospace, defense, or other complex engineered product/manufacturing environments.
β’ Experience supporting development and/or production programs from initial development through qualification, production ramp-up, and full-rate production.
β’ Proficient understanding of MRP/ERP systems, material requirements planning, production planning, procurement, inventory management, supplier management, and manufacturing operations.
β’ Experience with material forecasting, Estimates at Completion, program financial management, risk and opportunity management, and integrated program schedules.
β’ Capability to identify root causes, formulate recovery strategies, and lead cross-functional teams through complex material and supplier challenges.
β’ Experience in implementing process improvements, standardized work, reporting automation, dashboards, or data-driven management tools.
β’ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
β’ Familiarity with Power BI or similar analytics and visualization tools is preferred.
β’ Knowledge of government contracting and the defense acquisition environment, including relevant FAR/DFARS requirements, is preferred.
β’ Ability to lead through influence, function effectively in a matrixed organization, manage competing priorities, and make timely decisions in a rapidly changing environment.
β’ Strong leadership, coaching, communication, problem-solving, and executive presentation skills.
β’ Willingness to travel to company facilities, customers, and suppliers as business needs dictate.
