This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Create comprehensive, construction-ready masonry shop drawings for commercial construction initiatives.
• Develop plans, elevations, sections, details, enlarged views, wall layouts, partitions, and exterior façade systems.
• Detail various masonry systems, including CMU, brick, stone, veneer, and reinforced masonry.
• Illustrate masonry coursing, wall types, openings, control and expansion joints, reinforcing, embeds, flashing, shelf angles, lintels, and associated components.
• Integrate architectural and structural requirements, project specifications, building codes, and approved design criteria.
• Examine architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify discrepancies, missing details, conflicts, and constructability concerns.
• Coordinate masonry work with structural steel, concrete, precast, storefronts, curtain walls, windows, doors, roofing, waterproofing, and other trades.
• Align masonry openings and penetrations with other trades.
• Stay updated on drawing revisions and implement approved modifications.
• Prepare comprehensive masonry shop drawing packages for review and endorsement.
• Include feedback from architects, engineers, and general contractors into updated drawings.
• Maintain records of revisions, drawing logs, and organized electronic files of current and outdated drawings.
• Monitor drawing status and address review comments promptly.
• Collaborate with project managers and field superintendents to address masonry-related inquiries and site conditions.
• Assess field conditions when necessary and modify drawings to mirror approved changes.
• Provide technical assistance to field personnel and aid in RFI preparation.
• Attend project coordination meetings and assist in interpreting approved shop drawings during construction.
• Analyze revised architectural and structural drawings for impacts on masonry scope.
• Update drawings for sanctioned design modifications and communicate significant changes to project management.
• Assist in documenting changes for potential change orders.
• Conduct quality-control reviews of dimensions, elevations, wall placements, openings, details, references, and coordination before submission.
• Ensure consistency among plans, elevations, sections, and details.
• Generate masonry floor plans, elevations, wall sections, enlarged and typical details, CMU/brick/stone layouts, coursing diagrams, lintel, shelf-angle, reinforcing, bond beam, joint, flashing, weep, anchoring, opening, parapet, roof-interface, structure-connection, curtain-wall/storefront, penetration, and as-built drawings when necessary.
• 3–7 years of experience in producing architectural, structural, or masonry shop drawings.
• Profound knowledge of commercial masonry construction.
• Experience in detailing CMU, brick, stone, veneer, and reinforced masonry systems.
• Strong capability to read and interpret architectural and structural construction documents.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
• Solid understanding of architectural and structural detailing.
• Familiarity with masonry construction practices, materials, and installation techniques.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Experience with Revit or other BIM software is advantageous.
• An architectural license or registration is a plus, though not mandatory.
• Direct experience working for a masonry contractor is highly preferred.
• Proven experience in producing masonry shop drawings for commercial construction projects.
• Familiarity with CMU, brick veneer, adhered and anchored stone, cast stone, thin brick, and other masonry systems.
• Knowledge of TMS 402/602, relevant building codes, and masonry industry standards.
• Experience with structural masonry and reinforcing needs.
• Experience coordinating with structural steel, concrete, precast, curtain wall, storefront, and waterproofing systems.
• Proficiency in using Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, or similar construction management/document-control software.
• Excellent architectural drafting and detailing capabilities.
• Strong comprehension of masonry construction and installation.
• Exceptional spatial and technical reasoning skills.
• Ability to visualize construction conditions in three dimensions.
• Skill in identifying conflicts before they escalate into field issues.
• Strong understanding of architectural and structural coordination.
• Capability to manage multiple shop drawing packages and project deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, superintendents, estimators, architects, engineers, general contractors, and other trades.
• Capacity to work independently while adhering to tight project timelines.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
