This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Provide support for marketing and communications to the Quantum Economic Development Consortium (QED-C)
• Draft, schedule, and publish content for social media, mainly on LinkedIn
• Create, format, and distribute newsletters on a biweekly basis
• Execute email marketing campaigns using HubSpot, which includes copywriting, email creation, list management, scheduling, and tracking metrics
• Assist with marketing and communications for events, workshops, special meetings, and webinars
• Support promotional efforts for key events, which encompass emails, social media posts, website updates, registration content, speaker highlights, reminders, acknowledgments, and post-event communications
• Perform routine updates to the website using WordPress
• Oversee contact lists, campaign assets, and marketing workflows
• Monitor and report engagement metrics for newsletters, emails, social media, and campaigns
• Proofread and edit marketing materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, formatting, tone, and brand alignment
• Implement brand guidelines across marketing materials and assets created by vendors
• Keep organized brand assets, templates, messaging documents, and style guidelines
• Design simple graphics and marketing materials using Canva
• Identify inconsistencies and coordinate necessary revisions before publication or distribution
• Collaborate with vendors, contractors, writers, designers, printers, and internal stakeholders
• Manage orders for promotional items, including specifications, proofs, approvals, and coordination of delivery
• Coordinate blog content with external writers, contributors, and subject matter experts
• Work alongside graphic design contractors or agencies on larger design initiatives
• Maintain organized records of vendor contacts, project details, deadlines, proofs, files, and approvals
• U.S. citizenship or Permanent Residency is required
• A cover letter must be submitted
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field, or 2 years of equivalent professional experience without a degree
• 2–4 years of experience in marketing, communications, digital marketing, or a related position
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading abilities
• Experience in creating and scheduling social media content, particularly for LinkedIn
• Familiarity with email marketing platforms; experience with HubSpot is strongly preferred
• Proficient in Canva or similar design tools
• Experience with making updates to websites in WordPress
• Strong understanding of brand consistency across various channels and asset types
• Excellent editorial judgment and attention to detail
• Experience in coordinating with vendors, contractors, freelance writers, designers, printers, or suppliers of promotional items
• Ability to write creative briefs, gather feedback from stakeholders, manage revisions, and track approvals
• Strong project coordination capabilities
• Capacity to work independently and manage recurring deadlines
• Ability to quickly adapt to an organization’s voice, brand standards, communications priorities, and stakeholder audiences
• Compliance with established policies and processes is necessary
• Preference for candidates who can work within East Coast business hours (8 am–6 pm)
• Experience in supporting event marketing campaigns is preferred
• Familiarity with member-based organizations, nonprofits, associations, or technology-focused organizations is preferred
• Basic understanding of marketing analytics is preferred
• Experience with marketing calendars, project management tools, and campaign planning is preferred
• Experience working in a remote or hybrid environment is preferred
• Ability to operate a computer for several hours at a time is necessary
• May occasionally be required to move or lift up to 35 pounds
