Market Surveillance Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the prompt analysis of alerts that lead to the identification and prevention of market misconduct.

• Recognize areas of concern and escalate to stakeholders; swiftly bring attention to abnormal and/or irregular activity to senior management and product leaders.

• Assist in the design and development of models aimed at enhancing surveillance coverage, including but not limited to various types of conduct risk, compliance policies, and market manipulation.

• Conduct ad-hoc reviews of trading activities by analyzing complex situations, identifying high-risk behaviors, and exercising judgment to resolve issues efficiently.

• Summarize analysis into meaningful reports and share findings with relevant stakeholders such as Legal and Compliance teams.

• Stay updated on regulatory, business, and market structure changes that affect the surveillance program and consistently seek ways to improve coverage and performance.

• The ideal candidate will possess outstanding analytical and communication skills essential for interacting with market participants regarding activities under review.

⛳️ Requirements

• The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of industry experience, preferably in financial services compliance, at a financial services regulator, exchange/trading venue, or similar roles, with a solid understanding of financial markets and trading.

• Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced and complex work environment.

• Strong functional knowledge of trade surveillance and exception-based monitoring.

• Significant understanding of financial/trading regulatory frameworks.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Resourceful, results-driven, and a self-starter with the capability to persevere and overcome challenges.

• Exhibit a high level of initiative, analytical abilities, and impeccable integrity.

• Knowledge of digital asset products and market structures is an advantage.

• Proficiency in Tableau, Python, and SQL is a plus.
