This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Drive the acquisition of new customers and enhance Lenze’s visibility within the General Motion Control sector.
• Identify and pursue high-potential OEM opportunities, concentrating on AC inverter (VFD) and drive-based solutions.
• Perform outreach, qualify leads, and secure initial meetings with potential customers.
• Lead discovery discussions to gain insight into customer applications, requirements, and purchasing processes.
• Assist in customer presentations and product demonstrations alongside industry segment specialists and internal teams.
• Build and oversee a robust pipeline, advancing opportunities through the sales funnel towards closure.
• Monitor customer activities, pipeline progression, and subsequent steps within the CRM system.
• Collaborate with channel managers and distributors to broaden market reach and develop new opportunities.
• Enhance share of wallet at existing accounts by identifying additional applications and growth prospects.
• Provide accurate sales forecasts, meet or exceed sales objectives, and contribute to territorial growth.
• Work in partnership with application engineers and product managers to deliver effective customer solutions.
• Develop knowledge of products, applications, and market dynamics.
• Engage in training sessions, sales reviews, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Over 5 years of experience (ideally) in technical sales, sales engineering, application engineering, or business development roles within industrial automation, drives, motion control, electrical components, or related sectors.
• Prior experience supporting OEM applications in markets such as HVAC-R, data center cooling, fan and pump systems, water and wastewater treatment, process automation, dairy processing, car wash equipment, or other industrial machinery is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), servo drives, motion control, motors, and drive-based automation solutions is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with target markets, including OEM applications, competitors, industry trends, and dynamics.
• Proven track record in acquiring new customers with a proactive, results-oriented “hunter” mindset.
• Disciplined in using CRM systems, managing pipelines, and tracking performance through data-driven metrics (KPIs).
• Capable of leading discovery conversations, qualifying opportunities, and managing sales cycles with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to clearly articulate value propositions and quantify customer impact.
• Resilient, persistent, and adept at navigating ambiguity and overcoming challenges.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM tools and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Willingness to travel up to 40% for customer visits, trade shows, and training.
