Manufacturing Excellence Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee, develop, and implement operational excellence strategies and tools throughout Del Monte Foods.

• Spearhead enterprise initiatives in Lean Manufacturing, DMOE Implementation, Six Sigma, Manufacturing Execution Systems (TrakSYS), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Fill Weight Control, and Cost/Productivity Savings.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and promote data-driven decision-making.

• Achieve measurable enhancements in safety, quality, efficiency, and cost.

• Propel enterprise standardization of continuous improvement methodologies.

• Mentor site leaders and work collaboratively across functions to ensure lasting impact and alignment with business goals.

• Provide vision, coaching, and hands-on assistance in deploying DMOE pillars, Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, and a culture of continuous improvement across facilities.

• Own the methodology, standardization, and financial validation of productivity savings and cost avoidance in collaboration with Finance and Operations.

• Lead system-wide optimization and compliance regarding fill weight controls.

• Guide and coach structured problem-solving techniques, including 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, Logic Trees, and A3 Thinking.

• Execute Waste Walks and Value Stream Mapping events to identify and eliminate operational waste.

• Implement and instruct on V-curve and line balancing analyses to pinpoint throughput bottlenecks.

• Organize, facilitate, and report on Kaizen, TPM, and Six Sigma events.

• Drive the implementation of Standard Work, Visual Controls, 5S, and TPM.

• Develop and lead training programs to enhance organizational knowledge.

• Convey improvement outcomes, performance trends, and best practices across various leadership levels.

• Update executive leadership on progress.

• Collaborate with Executive Leadership, Engineering, EHS, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments.

• Lead cultural transformation and cultivate high-performance behaviors.

• Guide and coach Daily Direction Setting processes across all sites to enhance accountability, escalate issues, monitor performance, and align daily actions with site priorities.

• Report to the VP of Operations for the Food Division.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Operational Excellence in multi-site operations.

• Demonstrated leadership in CI deployment, event facilitation, and enterprise cost-savings tracking.

• Expert-level experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (preferably TrakSYS) and OEE system design.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills utilizing structured tools (RCA, A3, etc.).

• Effective communicator and change leader capable of influencing across various functions and levels.

• Proficient in presentation, facilitation, and coaching skills.

• Skilled in Value Stream Mapping, Waste Elimination, and Performance Metrics Development.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

• An equivalent combination of education and progressive operational excellence leadership experience may be considered.

• Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA, MS in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related discipline).

• Strongly preferred: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification; Master Black Belt certification is a plus.
