This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to develop and implement Matter's strategy for organic growth, focusing on target markets, ideal client profiles, and business development goals.
• Establish the firm's business development framework, which includes pipeline stages, prospect qualification, opportunity scoring, proposals, and conversion benchmarks.
• Execute CRM practices, including reporting, forecasting, and KPIs, while keeping leadership informed about progress, trends, and potential risks.
• Create a pipeline of potential families, centers of influence, and referral partners, personally managing high-value prospect relationships throughout the onboarding process.
• Enhance introductions from attorneys, CPAs, bankers, and investment and family office professionals, while representing Matter at industry events.
• Collaborate with Marketing and leadership to refine Matter's positioning, and partner with service teams to craft customized proposals for prospective families.
• Assess potential relationships for compatibility, complexity, profitability, risk, and capacity, ensuring a smooth transition to client service teams.
• Mentor professionals engaged in business development and foster organizational capability to ensure growth is not reliant on a few key individuals.
• Report directly to the CEO and collaborate with leaders across Investment Management, Wealth Planning & Coordination, and Family Culture & Learning.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in business development, relationship management, wealth or investment management, family office, or professional services.
• Proven track record of successfully developing relationships with high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) families, family offices, and their trusted advisors.
• Strong comprehension of the family office ecosystem.
• Demonstrated ability to generate and convert significant new business opportunities.
• Experience in building or enhancing business development processes, systems, and metrics.
• Capability to effectively engage with C-suite executives, sophisticated clients, and influential external stakeholders.
• Exceptional judgment, discretion, integrity, emotional intelligence, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
• An advanced degree is preferred.
