This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a key contributor to the fundraising and development achievements for Climate Power.
• Create and execute stewardship initiatives while cultivating relationships with major donors.
• Organize regular donor outreach, meetings, and events as necessary.
• Formulate both short-term and long-term strategies to enhance revenue and foster donor engagement.
• Provide strategic leadership for growth, innovation, donor diversity, and diversification of funding sources.
• Partner with the Executive Team and Core Leadership Team on development, messaging, marketing, events, branding, and positioning.
• Assemble and oversee an internal team as appropriate; mentor and develop staff, and set and evaluate performance and development objectives.
• Direct fundraising strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders and contractors.
• Manage donor materials, such as proposals and grant reports; write and refine strategic proposals.
• Spearhead fundraising and revenue forecasts while driving performance against established benchmarks.
• Collaborate with the finance team to refresh revenue forecasts and budget planning.
• Represent Climate Power at speaking engagements, fundraising events, and in communications with donors.
• Oversee the budget for the Development team.
• Advance Climate Power’s mission of promoting climate and clean energy solutions in political discussions and transforming the national political dialogue.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in direct fundraising and development within non-profit or political organizations.
• At least 5 years of experience in people and/or project management.
• Proficiency in leading departments and diverse teams while managing complex projects.
• Experience collaborating with senior-level executives and Board Members.
• Solid understanding of the political landscape, particularly in relation to climate justice.
• Demonstrated success in raising over $10M annually.
• Strong organizational abilities, evidenced by the capacity to handle competing priorities, navigate intricate issues, and meet deadlines with minimal oversight.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to staying informed about best practices and trends relevant to their work and projects.
• Availability to work Monday-Friday, 9 am-6 pm EST, plus weekends and evenings as required by the job.
• Ability to work from any location within the United States.
• Occasional travel is necessary, generally 3-4 times a year.
