This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Manage all facets of educational service delivery for students with special education needs.
• Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, along with special education laws and procedures.
• Supervise special education processes and timelines across all educational institutions.
• Interpret and convey regulations, policies, and procedures to principals, educators, and parents.
• Create standardized special education processes, forms, and protocols.
• Maintain relationships and databases with school districts, intermediate units, private providers, community agencies, and mental health clinics.
• Establish procedures for the placement, evaluation, assignment, and re-evaluation of students.
• Oversee referrals, development of 504 plans or IEPs, diagnostic assessments, and annual/tri-annual reviews.
• Keep special education documentation in the Learning Management System.
• Conduct school-based meetings for special education.
• Coordinate IEP-mandated direct services through internal support or contracted providers.
• Supervise 504 and IEP accommodations during state testing.
• Coordinate and assist the Student Support Team process.
• Collaborate on programming from pre-referral intervention through to transition and dismissal.
• Work with parents to address inquiries and enhance student learning in the Least Restrictive Environment.
• Tailor curricular options to fulfill individual student needs.
• Implement support strategies for special-needs students in a virtual setting.
• Plan, execute, and assess staff in-service activities.
• Coordinate and support summer school programs for special education students.
• Stay updated with current special education theory, research, methodology, and legislation.
• Assist with compliance related to staff certification.
• Oversee the EL Program and manage WIDA testing along with English Learner accommodations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the School Leader.
• A minimum of three years of successful professional practice or administrative experience in special education, or a combination of practice and experience.
• A Master's degree in Special Education or an Administrator license is preferred.
• Must fulfill all continuing education requirements.
• In-depth knowledge of special education law and compliance.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Customer-oriented approach.
• High level of flexibility.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in technology, particularly with Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.
• Experience with IDEA policy and/or Special Education administration.
• Required travel and attendance at in-person events, including State Testing, throughout the academic year.
• Participation in out-of-state, in-person conferences with overnight travel required.
• Availability to work occasional evening hours as necessary to support families.
