Manager, Special Education

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Oversee state reporting, compliance in special education, instructional practices, service delivery, and data management.

• Serve as the Instructional Leader for a special education department comprising approximately 50 staff members.

• Ensure adherence to Special Education Compliance Data to maintain full compliance.

• Provide assistance during audit reviews and address family complaints.

• Collaborate with Pearson Virtual Schools and MTCS to guarantee comprehensive support for MNCA students.

• Work with all stakeholders to optimize MNCA resources for the benefit of MNCA students.

• Manage and supervise a team of 12-15 special education staff, including conducting regular one-on-one meetings and fostering professional development.

• Comprehend the requirements for and assist the state testing team in facilitating the administration of all district testing.

• Aid in the organization, implementation, and management of IEPs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Required: Minnesota Director of Special Education licensure.

• Required: Minnesota teacher certification or certification in a related service (such as social worker or speech-language pathologist).

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Educational Leadership.

• Familiarity with multi-categorical disabilities across all grade levels.

• Experience in providing transitional skills and opportunities for students with disabilities.

• Proficient in technology, particularly with Microsoft Office products.

• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Customer-oriented approach.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.

• High level of flexibility.

• Team-oriented individual with proven leadership abilities.

• Proven capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing and state testing events, which may involve overnight stays.
