This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.
• Lead a rapidly expanding team of sales engineers focused on enterprise opportunities in the Southeastern United States.
• Coach, enable, and empower experienced Field Sales Engineers by establishing shared objectives, facilitating information exchange, and fostering mentoring relationships.
• Onboard newer team members on engagement protocols, account-manager relationships, technical training, and self-sufficiency.
• Develop and guide team members to help them reach their career aspirations.
• Actively engage in escalations and resolve customer challenges.
• Collaborate with Recruiting and HR to attract, recruit, and retain top talent.
• Regularly attend customer-facing meetings with team members.
• Participate in continuous technical training alongside the team.
• Advocate for Proofpoint’s vision to customers and prospects, ranging from technical staff to C-suite executives.
• Serve as an individual contributor when necessary, engage with customers, and devise strategies for target accounts.
• Collaborate with Professional Services and Customer Success to provide exceptional customer experiences and enhance customer retention.
• Acquire in-depth knowledge about Proofpoint’s security and risk platform.
• Travel 25–75% within the region.
• A minimum of 2+ years of experience leading sales engineering teams, preferably in the cybersecurity sector.
• Prior experience as a sales engineer, ideally possessing 4-6 years of experience.
• Strong technical background in cybersecurity, including cloud security, network security, incident response, messaging, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success in mentoring and developing team members, guiding them to achieve success.
• Solid sales acumen with the ability to collaborate with account teams to drive new customer sales and additional revenue.
• A lead-from-the-front mentality, with the ability to engage technically when necessary.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• Ability to work independently, adapt swiftly, and maintain a positive demeanor.
• Proven capability to command a room and lead intricate technical and business discussions with C-suite executives as well as technical personnel.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
