Manager, Research

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Identify and perform due diligence on designated public-market asset classes and categories.

• Create the quarterly Manager Monitor for EIPC meetings.

• Establish and uphold recommended investment strategy focus lists for institutional and wealth clients.

• Partner with advisors on search books for manager allocations and replacements.

• Develop primers and educational presentations.

• Deliver updates, recommendations, and innovative ideas to the Enterprise Investment Policy Committee.

• Conduct annual reviews of asset classes.

• Spot short- to intermediate-term tactical investment opportunities.

• Participate in client meetings to facilitate asset-class education, manager interviews, and strategy placements.

• Provide peer evaluations and collaborate on strategy recommendations within The Research Group.

• Assist with onboarding new clients through portfolio reviews and investment strategy roadmap development.

• Ensure Mariner service teams are updated about clients’ investment managers.

• Lead open investment RFP processes for larger relationships.

• Attend and present at conferences as required.

• Assist with special projects and new business presentations.

• Mentor research associates.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

• Preferably a minimum of five years’ experience in investment strategy due diligence.

• MBA and/or CFA charter is preferred.

• Familiarity with Morningstar Direct and eVestment Alliance is advantageous.

• Experience with LLMs to improve research due diligence processes is preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Highly organized self-starter with effective multitasking capabilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Capability to perform necessary physical activities with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Occasional travel and the ability to lift 10–15 pounds may be necessary.
