Manager, Rentals Collections

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the Rentals collections performance from start to finish, including days sales outstanding, aging distribution, days to pay, recovery rates, bad debt, and write-off levels.

• Drive a quarterly decrease in past-due balances.

• Lead, coach, and develop specialists and senior specialists in collaboration with offshore partner supervisors.

• Manage hiring, performance evaluations, and career progression.

• Oversee the headcount model that predicts and scales staffing in accordance with the portfolio.

• Establish portfolio strategies and segmentation for individual landlords and national property management groups.

• Enforce and manage credit policy, which includes credit reviews, approvals, holds, suspensions, and decisions on write-offs.

• Manage outsourced delivery relationships, including onboarding, training, service levels, and quality audits.

• Conduct monthly collections reviews with the Rentals product teams.

• Collaborate with sales and customer support on accounts that are at-risk or high-value.

• Work alongside Payments Program Management to analyze the causes of delinquency, such as billing accuracy, payment method friction, and dispute resolution.

• Identify opportunities for automation within Zuora, HighRadius, and Salesforce.

• Oversee month-end deliverables, which include reserve and allowance analysis, in coordination with Accounting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• Over 8 years of experience in B2B credit and collections or accounts receivable.

• A minimum of three years in a leadership role managing teams or team leads.

• Proven track record of influencing collections metrics rather than merely reporting them.

• Comprehensive understanding of the complete order-to-cash cycle, which includes cash application and the accounting treatment of bad debt and sales allowances.

• Practical experience with Zuora, HighRadius, Salesforce, Workday, Oracle, or SAP.

• Proficiency in advanced Excel or Google Sheets, including pivot tables and lookups.

• Experience in managing outsourced or offshore vendor relationships, establishing service levels, and maintaining quality standards.

• Proven experience in setting and implementing credit or collections policies under commercial pressures.

• Familiarity with AI tools to automate manual processes is preferred.

• Familiarity with the rentals or real estate sector is advantageous.

• Experience with credit scoring systems is a plus.
