Collections Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee designated delinquency and collection efforts for assigned multifamily properties.

• Keep track of delinquent accounts and ensure reports are accurate and up-to-date.

• Monitor progress towards established collection and delinquency objectives.

• Reach out to residents regarding overdue balances, document interactions and commitments, and follow up on outstanding accounts.

• Examine accounts for erroneous charges, payments, credits, and other inconsistencies; facilitate necessary corrections.

• Maintain consistent communication with onsite and regional teams.

• Organize notices or actions that require local delivery or management approval.

• Prepare necessary documentation and collaborate with legal or eviction service providers for referred accounts.

• Identify rent assistance resources and work alongside residents and property teams.

• Assist in resolving post-move-out balances and coordinate with collection agencies.

• Recognize recurring issues and process deficiencies; report suggestions to the Central Services Program Manager.

• Consistently apply company policies and established procedures while escalating compliance issues.

• Contribute to process enhancements during and after the pilot to lessen the administrative workload on site staff and develop a scalable collections framework.

• Preferred experience with multifamily resident accounts, rent collection, delinquency management, or a similar function.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and follow-through abilities.

• Capability to operate across multiple properties while maintaining precise records.

• Proficiency in using property management systems and reports to identify issues and track results.

• Experience in process analysis and redesign.

• Data-driven decision-making skills.

• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.

• Knowledge of compliance with relevant federal, state, and local laws, including Fair Housing regulations.
