Manager, Payroll Administration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Manage payroll cycles, including off-cycle payments, adjustments, and year-end processing.

• Supervise earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, paid time off (PTO), bonuses, and supplemental pay.

• Address escalated payroll concerns.

• Ensure adherence to wage/hour laws, tax regulations, reporting requirements, SOX controls, audits, notifications, and corrective measures.

• Take ownership of payroll system administration, enhancements, integrations, testing, automation, data integrity, and support for organizational changes.

• Lead, mentor, and develop team members; set standards and priorities; communicate effectively; guide through transitions.

• Produce regular and on-demand reports.

• Detect trends, anomalies, and risks to aid in forecasting and decision-making.

• Collaborate with Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Tax, HRIS, and external vendors to ensure payroll processes are accurate, timely, compliant, and scalable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources, or a related field; equivalent work experience will be considered.

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive payroll experience within a large, complex organization.

• At least 2 years of leadership or team management experience.

• Extensive knowledge of payroll operations, payroll tax, wage and hour regulations, garnishments, and year-end procedures.

• Experience in managing multi-state payroll environments for both exempt and non-exempt employees.

• Strong technical skills with Workday.

• Familiarity with payroll vendors and third-party service management.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and reporting tools.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation abilities.

• Outstanding communication, judgment, and customer service skills.

• Preferred experience in international payroll.

• CPP certification is preferred.
