This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Establish and nurture strategic, long-lasting relationships with patient associations and key stakeholders

• Comprehend patients’ needs and concerns, pinpoint key stakeholders and influencers, align priorities, and devise activities that impact decision-makers

• Collaborate with individuals living with diseases and patient associations to determine priorities, unmet needs, and viable solutions

• Develop and spearhead a proactive patient relations agenda

• Create, coordinate, and execute advocacy strategies and action plans that include timelines, budgets, and assigned responsibilities

• Initiate patient-focused initiatives that bolster commercial strategies within a specific therapeutic area

• Offer insights on trends and opportunities relevant to patient strategies and brand plans

• Work alongside cross-functional teams to devise solutions for patients

• Track patient-related activities and report findings to brand teams

• Collaborate with Area and Global teams on strategic initiatives suitable for Canada

• Represent AbbVie at pertinent meetings and gatherings with patient associations

• Discover innovative methods to learn from patients and convey their needs to Brand teams

• Act as an authority on the strengths, challenges, and requirements of patient associations

• Forge connections with Marketing, Government Affairs, Market Access, Public Affairs, Medical Affairs, and other functional leads

• Ensure compliance with written documentation, Code of Practice, and ACC reporting responsibilities


⛳️ Requirements

• Three (3) to five (5) years of pertinent experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Sciences, Nursing, Public Affairs, or another relevant field

• Advanced proficiency in both English and French; preference will be given to bilingual candidates

• Experience in collaboration with patient associations

• Background in patient/stakeholder relations, market access, and/or marketing

• Familiarity with working in cross-functional teams and brand team settings is advantageous

• Intermediate computer and software skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, and Internet

• Strong skills in interpersonal communication, planning, project management, presentation, and budget management

• Knowledge of regulations and ethics pertaining to working with patients and patient associations

• Understanding of media, communication trends, provincial and federal political landscapes, and healthcare systems

• Ability to take decisive actions and exhibit behavioral traits that align with AbbVie’s leadership philosophy and attributes

• Willingness to travel approximately 20–25% of the time

• Valid driver’s license and passport required
