This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Cultivate strategic alliances with program partners, such as retailers.
• Facilitate partnership meetings to uncover collaboration and resource opportunities.
• Organize partner engagement and training sessions.
• Oversee the planning and implementation of national food recovery initiatives, including the Retail Food Program.
• Create and manage communication, marketing, and training for the program.
• Evaluate programs to detect risks, identify opportunities, enhance efficiencies, and improve engagement.
• Train and mentor food banks to strengthen connections with matched program partners.
• Increase the volume of food received by the food bank network.
• Lead the planning for program stewardship and recognition.
• Identify and develop additional food recovery initiatives throughout Canada.
• Formulate strategies and programs that enhance access to nutritious food.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in program management, food procurement, relationship building, and/or fundraising/sales.
• Proven track record of achieving successful outcomes and fostering donor/industry relationships.
• Completion of an undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Strong understanding of Canada’s retail sector.
• Exceptional interpersonal abilities with a talent for building rapport and trust with retail partners and internal stakeholders.
• Outstanding presentation and negotiation skills.
• Capability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
• Strong general computer proficiency.
• Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Bilingualism in English and French is advantageous.
• Must possess reliable transportation for travel purposes.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
