Manager Medical Affairs – International

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Establish and maintain professional and trustworthy relationships with clinical and scientific thought leaders.

• Assist with investigator-initiated studies, which includes interactions with KOLs, submission of proposals, execution of research contracts, monitoring of enrollment, and tracking of milestones.

• Offer clinical and scientific insights regarding Shockwave Medical products and therapeutic areas in response to unsolicited inquiries.

• Represent OMA as a subject matter expert and scientific information contact at scientific meetings and conferences.

• Facilitate the communication and education of scientific evidence for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Provide therapeutic knowledge and scientific assistance to Clinical Affairs, Regulatory, Marketing, Professional Education, Market Access, and HEOR teams.

• Collaborate with HEOR and internal stakeholders on key data summaries, health-economic insights, and scientifically pertinent information.

• Review clinical reports, abstracts, manuscripts, health-economic models/dossiers, and other scientific and HEOR-related materials.

• Support global OMA functions with expertise in carotids, TAVI, PAD, CAD, and coronary physiology.

• Assist with internal training sessions and advisory boards.

• Ensure all activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, guidelines, codes, company policies, and best practices.

• Act as a scientific representative for Shockwave Medical at conferences and both internal and external meetings.

• Travel up to 50% based on business requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline.

• Advanced degree preferred (Master, PhD, MD, PharmD, etc.).

• Over 6 years of relevant experience in Medical Affairs within the medical device sector.

• Fluency in English (both verbal and written) and at least one additional major European language (preferably French and/or German).

• Experience in the medical device industry, particularly in cardiovascular medicine, with specialized knowledge in carotids, TAVI, PAD, CAD, and/or coronary physiology is highly preferred.

• Background in supporting HEOR projects, health economics analyses, and dossiers.

• Familiarity with the review of promotional materials.

• Capability to comprehend, summarize, and communicate scientific data clearly and concisely.

• Skill in building and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.

• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills tailored to diverse audiences.

• Competence to function as part of a team or independently while demonstrating flexibility and resilience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy, along with excellent critical thinking abilities.

• Strong prioritization and organizational skills.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with hands-on experience; proactive approach and a "can-do" attitude.

• Flexibility and strong capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple priorities.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time based on business needs.
