Manager, Learning & Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Develop and take ownership of the organization-wide Learning & Development strategy and roadmap.

• Establish governance, ownership, intake, and prioritization processes to address learning needs.

• Create scalable L&D programs, processes, tools, and infrastructure, which includes learning technology, content governance, learning records, and reporting mechanisms.

• Design and implement development programs for managers that encompass coaching, feedback, accountability, performance management, communication, interviewing, and delegation skills.

• Create capability frameworks that link roles, skills, proficiency levels, learning pathways, certifications, career progression, and internal mobility.

• Develop scalable technical and functional learning pathways that facilitate certifications, product enablement, and employee growth.

• Enhance role-based onboarding processes by incorporating readiness standards, practical assessments, manager approvals, and measures for time-to-productivity.

• Define learning and readiness requirements for new products, processes, and organizational capabilities, including AI and technology-enabled work methods.

• Design and facilitate learning programs in various formats such as instructor-led, virtual, self-guided, manager-led, and on-the-job training.

• Establish essential company-wide training for compliance, cybersecurity, ethics, Core Values, and other educational requirements.

• Define and report on L&D effectiveness metrics related to role readiness, productivity, certifications, manager effectiveness, and overall performance.

• Utilize performance data, manager insights, employee feedback, and business metrics to identify gaps and enhance learning initiatives.

• Report to the Global Head of People and collaborate with People Strategy & Effectiveness, Service Delivery, business leaders, managers, and subject matter experts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in Learning & Development, talent development, or a related discipline, particularly in building or managing L&D programs.

• Experience in designing development programs for managers and leaders.

• Strong understanding of instructional design, facilitation, and learning evaluation methodologies.

• Demonstrated capability to identify performance and capability gaps and convert business needs into actionable development solutions.

• Experience in creating role-based, technical, or functional learning programs in collaboration with business leaders and subject matter experts.

• Excellent business partnership, communication, facilitation, and program management skills.

• Experience in implementing or managing learning technology, content, learning records, or related L&D infrastructure.

• Proficient in using data, metrics, and feedback to assess learning effectiveness and inform program enhancements.

• Experience in leading and mentoring others while remaining actively engaged in program design, facilitation, and execution.

• Ability to function effectively as a hands-on leader within a growing team.

• Experience in developing capability frameworks that connect skills, proficiency, learning pathways, certifications, career progression, and internal mobility.

• Experience in designing or refining structured onboarding and employee readiness initiatives.

• Experience in supporting technical, product, or function-specific learning alongside subject matter experts.

• Familiarity with learning strategies applicable to emerging technologies, including AI-enabled working methods.

• Strong analytical skills that connect learning investments with measurable business and performance results.

• Comfortable adopting a player-coach approach.

• Ability to foster alignment and influence among various stakeholder groups without relying purely on formal authority.
